“In emerald tufts, flowers purple, blue and white;
Like sapphire, pearl, and rich embroidery,
Buckled below fair knighthood's bending knee;
Fairies use flower for their charactery.”

― William Shakespeare

THE STORY OF KAMELIJA

Kamelija stands for Camellia Culture.

Camellias are evergreen shrubs mostly with dark green slightly waxy leaves which flower from Autumn through Winter and then into Spring - depending on species. There are many species of Camellia however, the best known ones are Camellia japonica, that beautifies our gardens, and Camellia sinensis. The latter one is the species whose leaves and leaf buds are used to produce the popular beverage - tea. It is of the genus Camellia (Chinese: 茶花; Pinyin: Cháhuā, literally: "tea flower"), a genus of flowering plants in the family Theaceae. White, yellow, green tea, oolong, pu-erh and black tea are all harvested from this species, but are processed differently to attain different levels of oxidation.

This elegant plant is considered a symbol of the utmost beauty and eternal love.

In 2002. the idea to start walking down the flowery lane was born. The flowershop and plant nursery, with the wide assortment of cut flower arrangements, potted plants, seeds and fruit seedlings, plant substrates and herbicides, opened the doors to its clients, offering professional advice regarding utilitarian and ornamental horticulture, design, construction and maintenance of gardens and other green spaces, as well. The gracеful name of Kamelija seemed as the most adequate one to respond to the ambitions and creativity of the owners, as well as of the clients.
